Washing Machines- Thank Heaven for them!

This is Marina, my host mother, in El Seibo (Dominican Republic) explaining how the washing machine works! It took a session for me to figure out how to do it on my own. You put in water, soap, and then your clothes on the left side. They are agitated by a paddle. Then you take them and squeeze the water out place it in the right side and this tub spins the water out of it. Then you put it into a separate tub of water and softener. Then you squeeze that out and FINALLY put the clothes back in the spinner. They come out pretty dry, but you still need to hang them off the line to get some sun. Still beats having to wash them by hand!
