I recently got a Maytag A207 in a home that I purchased. It is pristine and works flawflessly. Any idea as to what year the A207 was made? No papers were left in the home and I was just curious. Also, does anyone know how I could get some replacement water level buttons as one is missing.. Thanks for any help.
Maytag washers and dryers made from 1972 to 1979 were the best machines ever made in america! If you see one on the side of the road you would be wise to pick it up and bring it home. They are very easy to work on, they seldom break down and they last forever!!!! I have 4 washers and 4 dryers from that era! A Lifetime supply!!!!! LOL
Dude!!! I luv this vid & it rocks so much I had my Mom’s A806 shipped from NH to FL to see it LIVE for real! Now the whole family can watch live & your instant replay!!!
No, actually, the front-loaders are easier on fabrics. At least the newer front loaders are. The front loading machines rotate the drum without and agitator. It’s the agitator that sometimes damaged clothes. That’s my impression anyway.
we had a maytag and it only lasted 8or 9 years timer went out.The whhirlpool we bought new in 1990 is still working like new.Its whirlpool for us if it ever quits. Also the maytag we had i remember when we washed sheets in it it tied them up cause of the agitator being made funny.Even my wringer don’t tie up sheets.
We used to have somthing similar to this, with green agatator and everything, but the controlls were different. It was a good washer, but when we got the maytag neptune, the water bill went down dramaticly and i thin the front loader gets the clothes cleaner. Plus the clothes dry faster.
What a beautiful washer you have. I remember these. They were very well made! Remember when machines had chrome on them? I have a new Maytag Front Loader and matching dryer that i have mix feelings about. I can fit a lot of clothes into it. But it doesn’t get the whites very white like my old Maytag top loader.

So are top loaders nicer to clothes than front loaders? Meaning less wear and tear on them….?

I love the classic maytags especially the sound of the wash cycle.
